SUMMARY


As the National Director of Community Engagement, you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing strategies to foster positive relationships between the company and the communities it serves. You will lead a team dedicated to community outreach, corporate social responsibility, and philanthropic initiatives at a national level. The National Direction should have a strong background in community engagement, corporate social responsibility, and a passion for making a positive impact. This person will be a highly organized, proactive, and versatile individual.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Strategy Development:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive national community engagement strategy aligned with the company's values and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate community engagement initiatives into overall business plans.
  • Community Partnerships:
  • Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with community organizations, nonprofits, and other stakeholders to enhance the company's community impact.
  • Foster relationships with local leaders and influencers to strengthen the company's presence in various communities.
  • Employee Engagement:
  • Work closely with HR and internal communication teams to develop employee engagement programs that encourage volunteerism and community involvement.
  • Establish initiatives that promote a culture of social responsibility and community awareness among employees.
  • Philanthropy and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR):
  • Oversee the development and execution of corporate philanthropy programs, ensuring alignment with the company's mission and values.
  • Monitor and report on the impact of CSR initiatives, maintaining transparency and accountability.
  • Public Relations and Communication:
  • Act as a spokesperson for the company's community engagement efforts, both internally and externally.
  • Develop and implement communication strategies to highlight the company's positive contributions to communities.
  • Budget Management:
  • Develop and manage the budget for community engagement initiatives, ensuring cost-effectiveness and maximum impact.
  • Other Duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in community engagement, corporate social responsibility, or a related field at a national level.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align community engagement initiatives with business goals.
  • Understanding of social issues and trends that impact communities.

 

 

OTHER JOB DEMANDS

Work is generally performed in a traditional office environment at our newly renovated Camden, New Jersey location. Regular travel to our scrap metal sites around the country is required. Working hours may vary and evening or weekend work may be required. You may be required to lift and carry light weights. Travel requires the ability to drive and the use of a personal vehicle.
