Overview:

We are actively looking for an Engineering Programme Manager to join our engineering team. You will lead and inspire a team of project engineers to successfully deliver an array of innovative, exciting and complex initiatives ranging from modifications through to large scale capex projects.

You will have a strong emphasis on developing our internal talent to develop a world class engineering function.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Lead and inspire our team of project engineers to successfully implement our engineering programme in accordance with time, cost and the performance requirements of the business.
  • Empower and enable our project engineering team to deliver outstanding results to our customers and build quality solutions via a culture of coaching, mentoring and support.
  • Promote a safe working environment and ensure adherence to health and safety regulation.
  • Responsibility for the delivery of a programme of strategically significant projects.
  • Build, lead and coach a high-performing engineering team, including recruitment and development within the team. Create a collaborative and innovative work environment that fosters professional growth and engagement.
  • Review the programme of projects on a quarterly basis to ensure project prioritisation and resource allocation remains consistent with EMR’s business objectives.
  • Ensure that each project has the appropriate level of technically suitable resource allocated to it, using both internal and where required external resource.
  • Ensure regular review meetings are undertaken with each project team, at a frequency appropriate to the project.
  • Communicate development work delivered by the team to relevant stakeholders across EMR, building trusted and established relationships.

Use and develop EMR’s systems for:

  • management of health and safety
  • technical approval
  • tracking project costs
  • procurement
  • management of contracts
  • recording staff time for charging to projects and depots
  • recording time and any costs relevant to R&D tax claims
  • Developing and maintaining an up to date understanding of technologies applicable to EMR’s global activities, including those used by competitors and in similar industries.

 

About you:


A degree in a relevant engineering or science discipline. Mechanical and Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Mineral Processing are particularly relevant.

Relevant experience should include:

  • Hands-on experience of project development and delivery.
  • Management of technical teams to deliver complex projects.
  • Similar material process industry, including recycling, mineral processing, manufacturing e.g. steel, cement, bulk food, chemicals, etc.

A track record in:

  • Delivering innovative, technically challenging projects
  • Managing and developing technical staff.
