Job Purpose Summary
CACI provide a number of integrated products to Government Organizations responsible for delivering services in the Children and Youth Prevention sectors. These products are developed using Oracle and Java technologies and are actively developed and supported by 3 teams across the UK.
As part of the Product Development team you will provide development and application support services for both our established Oracle Forms Children Services product, and our latest web-based solution currently developed using Oracle Database technologies and Java programming.
Key Responsibilities
You may be involved in various parts of the full software development project lifecycle including but not limited to:
- Assisting in the correct identification and analysis of client requirements.
- Application design
- Engineering design and documentation thereof
- Testing of software developed.
- Data migration.
- Go live processes
- In carrying out the above you will follow the company’s established processes and quality standard.
- The above may be for an external facing client project or for an internal R&D project or change request.
Specific Job Skills/Experience
Working as a Developer at CACI you will be routinely exposed to a wide range of different modules within our software, which will require you to make every effort to acquire sufficient domain knowledge to perform your job role effectively.
In addition to this you will have demonstrable current experience in of the following:
- Experience developing and supporting Oracle Forms applications.
- Specific experience of Oracle Forms 18g, Oracle 19c
- PL/SQL experience working with Oracle databases.
- Oracle Application Express
- The ability to work with existing code bases, to support Delivery Management activities when identifying reported issues by examining code, identifying the problem and reporting resolution strategies.
- Proven experience of delivering code to production environments from specifications
- Ability to explain software development concepts to enable colleagues with different skills to understand your suggested solutions/ideas.
- Proficiency in all MS Office products.
- Proven experience of delivering code to production environments from specifications
- Recent experience in HTML, JavaScript (JQuery), AJAX and CSS development.
- Production experience on Oracle APEX projects.
- Production experience with Sencha extJs or similar Javascript UI Framework.
- Good understanding of data transfer in XML.
- Experience of developing User Interfaces from design mock-ups.
- Experience in continuous build environments using Subversion, Cruise Control, Nant, Unit Testing and Code Coverage etc
- Experience of Jira essential
Good to have:
- Experience in team development of Web Applications using Java, Microsoft, or similar technologies.

Other Requirements
- You may be required to work on other teams/projects within C&YP team as suited to your skill set.
- You must be able to work extended hours on occasions, if required.
- Standard working hours are Mon to Fri. We do not work flexi-time.
- You will be responsible for your own time management, and when allocated to a job/project should assist the Project Manager to set your time allocation up on the system so that your actual time can be monitored against planned time. You will use the Netsuite timesheet software to record your actual time on a weekly basis.
- You are be expected to follow/use and improve upon the existing, related systems and processes in use by the company, as directed.
- You will be expected to carry out any other duties allocated from time to time by management. This is not limited to, but might include such work as providing support for a presentation by the Sales Team.
- You will be issued with a computer with which to carry out your work. Where this is a laptop you Should there be reference to communication regarding specs and questions/communicating when tasks are completed. will be responsible for its safekeeping.
- Your Team Leader will conduct Performance and Objective setting reviews with you. CACI will provide opportunities for your skills to be fully utilised and to so aid your progression and experience. Your performance reviews will provide an opportunity for you to suggest areas in which you would like more experience and/or training, and for the team Leader/Operations Director to set your objectives for the following period.
